Obviously not a Panerai. But I am looking for a watch that fits into the following critera:

1: under $200, preferably under $150. Used is ok.

2: have a blue or brown face.

3: strap makes no difference as I can change it but would prefer a red tinted brown leather.

4: No gold

5:would prefer for it to have a synthetic sapphire crystal that it globe like (extends a good bit from the watch.)

I will appreciate any suggestions!

are you looking for fashion or function?

if it’s function you’re after, casio makes solar powered waterproof watches for under 20 bucks. Work fantastic and if you break/lose it, you’re out 15 bucks plus tax.

Fashion is not my forte.

Check out Invicta watches. They certainly aren’t worth the “MSRP” but the actual prices of them I feel are fair. I usually get them from worldofwatches

I have had one of these for a year or so and its held up awesomely, also don’t believe the MSRP Citizen lists at all.

I’m pretty sure mine was just over $200 at a local family owned jewelry shop.

Exactly, Invicta makes some great watches, though they also have some extremely tacky ones.

I own a non-trivial number of Invicta. Several in their Russian Diver series.

I’ve owned two Nixon watches, both were graduation presents (high school and college) and they held up great to a lot of abuse. I know have a bit more mature Fossil watch, and it stopped keeping time properly months ago. I really need to take it in to get it fixed. Looks great though!

Here’s a 1969 Sea King , but the crystal is acrylic or glass. Or you can choose from a billion Invictas like this one . You’re not going to find something in that price range with a sapphire crystal that isn’t used, and unfortunately most of the used watches in the price range won’t have a real sapphire crystal.

As Antreib said, Nixon makes some great watches for around that price range. I’ve owned two, each for a period of about 4-6 years, that never required any maintenance and stood up to lots of abuse.

I recently got a Fossil watch as a Christmas present from my girlfriend, and I love the look of it. I need to go get something adjusted at the store, it hasn’t been keeping time properly for awhile, but they have good service and I know it’ll get fixed without issue.

That’s the Fossil watch I have. I know it’s not the style you’re looking for, but they have a lot and they’re all mostly around your price range. Nice thing is that it’s very easy to swap out bands on them. I have the black one pictured there and a brown leather strap as well, so that I can switch them out to match what I’m wearing on a given day.

Pulsar is always operating in this price range. Further I can personally advice both Invicta and AVI-8, both of them have a lot of models with a MSRP of around $400, however can be had between 100-200 most of the time.

My personal favourite watch is the AVI-8 Flyboy, which can be had in multiple dial colours, and with both quartz and automatic movements, and with a bit of luck can be found around $100. I got mine, a brown strapped automatic, for around €90, down from its €450 MRSP.

Also, I love the way those Panerai look, so if you find a watch with similar glass below 200, please post it to oppo.

I got the second one as a Tag Monaco look-a-like. I don’t think they sell it anymore though.

My favorite sub $200 watches in my collection are my Vostock (it’s the cheapest automatic you can get with an in house movement)

Kinja'd!!!

And my Seiko Orange Monster (which you can get in blue and black as well) *Note, not my picture, but I have the same combo watch and strap.

+2 on the Seiko watches. Wearing the one I bought 2 years ago with no breakage and a reasonable patina of use.

Fossil does a real automatic now? I had no idea.

Apparently so. I also didn’t know enough about watches to realize what an automatic meant, and now I understand why it must always be losing time. I spend most of the time I’m wearing it sitting at my desk typing on a computer, so not much real movement. I figured that with walking around and the movement from driving it’d be enough, but I guess not.

The only automatic I've ever had... seems to run a few minutes a week fast. But I've been switching time zones so often since I got it that I'm resetting it frequently, anyway.

Yeah, mine had stopped keeping time and was wayyy off. I just wound it and it seems to be running much better now. haha I’ll just have to remember to wind it every few days.

Microsoft Band 2. Sure, you can’t change the strap, but you can change the face color whenever! And only $174.99 right now.
